Security settings

If you run the course from your PC then you may need to change your Flash Player security settings. If you do not see a security warning yet cannot progress into the course, please following these steps:

  1. In your browser, go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html
  2. This launches the Global Security Settings panel on the Macromedia website, which controls the security settings of Flash Player on your PC.
  3. In the Global Security Settings tab, tick the box 'Always Allow'
  4. There is not a Confirm or OK button, so just close your browser to save the settings.
  5. Then relaunch Essentials Online

I am unable to progress beyond the Avatar selection screen / screen freezes

This is a problem with a security restriction of Flash when running on an intranet environment or the local machine. Please go to: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html

and select "Always Allow" for the course to function. This will need to be carried out on all PCs accessing the course.

I cannot launch the course / I click the course link and nothing happens

Norton products can affect the launching of courses. Please check Pop-up settings within Norton and adjust accordingly.
